Where Do The Jaguars Go From Here

Okay, I'm going to put on both my optimists hat and my pessimists hat and let you decide which one looks best.

After the Jaguars 17-10 loss to the Titans, in which direction will the Jaguars season go? I opine, you decide.

The Optimist: Look at last season. The Jaguars looked even worse last year and they still made the playoffs. Plus, the Colts lost their opener at home! The Jaguars will have a chance to play the Colts in two weeks. They'll be fine against the Bills at home. Last year, the Jaguars figured things out after the loss to the Titans and won their next four games.

David Garrard was uncharacteristically wild with the ball. He had three turnovers on Sunday. That's not likley to happen again. Plus, do you think that Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew will be held to 33 yards again? Not likely.

With the big returns form Brian Witherspoon, better play from the offensive line and a week of preparation that won't be hurt by a teammate being shot will all lead to the Jaguars team we expect to see this year.

The Pessimist: The offensive line is in serious trouble. First, the Jaguars have some serious depth issues. There is nobody who knows the offense who you can trust at left tackle. Vince Manuwai's knee injury could be very serious. Mo Williams and Uche Nwaneri both were injured on Sunday, too. Who's left?

And are you sure that David Garrard is going to be the quarterback he was last year? The history of the NFL is filled with one year wonders. Garrard threw three interceptions last year. He threw two on Sunday. He wouldn't be the first guy to get a big contract then go in the tank.

And just because Richard Collier got shot last week doesn't mean that the Jaguars will stop worrying about him. He's in the hospital for crying out loud! Of course they'll be thinking about him.

The Jaguars still didn't get any significant pressure on the quarterback on Sunday. Their counting on rookies to develop a pass rush. When that doesn't happen they blitz and you saw what happened, the Titans dumped it off to the tight end and he journeyed to the center of the Jaguars defense. And that was Kerry Collins. What happens when its Peyton Manning?

IT WAS JUST A BAD GAME FOR THE JAGS AS A WHOLE
I agree the jags played the worst game they possibly could have had, but its done now and they better show up next week, and that pass rush on third down was the worst decision ever it cost us the game. But still things happen, and the jags will be fine next week

We played the worste we could have and the titans won by 7 pounts say if we play a lil better we would of beaten the titans i say we have nothing to worrt about bc were going to learn from our mistakes and we lost with alot of injuries but we will get better

Your season is done. Buffalo is going to finish what the Titans started, then Indy will blow you out. You'll start 0-3 and never recover.

Titans Game
The Titan game ranked close to the bottom of any Jaguar performance that I have seen. The coaching decisions were not good. The offensive line was very inconsistent. Where is the running game? Why are we assiging Matt Jones routes that he cannot run? He obviously cannot get seperation from a defender that is quicker than he is. I am a season ticket holder and am not even looking forward to our first home game. If we cannot win on the road against a mediocre opponent who struggled offensivley, we are in trouble.
