Something To Build On
The Jaguars victory in Indy is going to make this week a lot less stressful for the Jaguars players and coaches. There was an air of desperation last week.
But the way the Jaguars won and the attitude that they found Sunday should help them as they go forward.
There is plenty to build on:
- The running game returned--and the dedication to make Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew the centerpiece of the gameplan.
- The offensive line played much better--paving the way for 236 rushing yards and did not allow a sack.
- David Garrard looked like the David Garrard of last year, making plays at key times to keep drives alive and convert on third down.
- Matt Jones was his favorite target, connecting five times with Jones on 3rd down--all of them for first downs.
- The Jaguars offense drove down for the game winning field goal when the chips were down.
- And the Jaguars won on the road where they rarely win.
But a word of caution here. There are plenty of things the Jaguars need to do better to contend for the division title:
- In four trips inside the 20, the Jaguars scored just one touchdown. They are going to have to tighten up on defense. For the second straight week, they gave up the lead in the 4th quarter. Only this time the offense and Josh Scobee bailed them out.
It's not a finished product yet, but Jack Del Rio will sure take 1-2 with plenty to build on over 0-3 and a moral victory.

Nice turn around guys, keep it rolling.
Anybody heard anything new about Collier? How's he doing? What's going on with the investigation? Was he specifically targeted?
