Brain Games
I'll admit it. Sometimes during the long days of training camp, spending everyday on the practice field, I get a little bored. So, the other day, a few media types and I were discussing which Jaguars players would do the best on Jeopardy!
Clearly, Jeopardy! is the ultimate judge of intelligence.
It's easy to judge the fastest guy on the team or the strongest guy on the team. Just check the 40 yard dash times or the weight room totals. But because intelligence can be measured in so many ways, this is much more subjective.
Khalif Barnes (not really talking about Jeopardy! somehow), did mention the intelligence of two of his offensive teammates: David Garrard and Brad Meester.
"Meester is our quarterback on the line. He might be the smartest guy in our offensive room," Barnes said. "David's pretty smart. Those two are pretty much the smartest guys."
It makes sense that the center and quarterback would be considerd the smartest guys on the offense. They have to make the most reads, calls and checks in a hurry at the line of scrimmage.
